Biography

William Francis Van Wart II, 78, of East Meadow, NY died Dec 21, 2011 at North Shore University Hospital.

He was born to the late William and Helen Van Wart on July 16, 1933 in Brooklyn. He attended Brooklyn Community College and later received a degree in Electrical Engineering from The New York Institute of Technology in 1971. He served with the army in the Korean War with the 25^th Infantry Division. He married Mary (Peters) in 1958 and they settled in Rockville Centre, NY, where they lived for 40 years. He retired from GEC Alstom as General Manager. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary, son William, three daughters, Marybeth (Rein), Karen and Lynda and 4 grand-children.

A proud and devoted father and grandfather, Bill in his retirement enjoyed model railroading, travel, genealogy and spending time at Lido beach with his family. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

William is buried in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
