Raymond Foley 

October 20th, 1946 - July 7th, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Joseph Foley, 78, of Rockville Centre, NY on July 7th, 2025. 

Raymond was a beloved Father of 2 Sons, Matthew and Dennis.  A cherished Brother to his Sister Stephanie, Brother Timothy and Sister in Law Kelly. A treasured and dedicated Uncle to his Nephews Michael, Gregory & his wife Tricia, Brendan, Patrick and Nolan and Grand Nieces Angelina and Francesca. Ray's family and friends were the most important things to him and he expressed that everyday through his kindness, generosity and love for everyone he met. 

Raymond was born October 20th, 1946 in Rockville Centre to Muriel and Stephen Foley. He attended Oceanside High School where he graduated before moving to Ohio where he attended and graduated from the University of Dayton. He then went on to serve his country as an M.P. in the United States Army. After he served, Ray went on to attend St. John's University School of Law where he was a member of the law review and earned his Juris Doctorate. Once he passed the BAR exam Ray had a long and distinguished career as an Attorney with the NYS Attorney General's Office where he received numerous awards and commendations and retired in 2012 as a Bureau Chief. 

Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and going on his daily walks around Rockville Centre where he would stop and talk to just about anyone, pop his head into a bar or restaurant to shoot the breeze, make jokes, grab some lunch and just overall connect with people. Ray also loved watching his favorite teams the Mets, Jets and Islanders play. Although they were his favorite teams he would make no secret and tell everyone when they sucked and what play or call should have been made. 

Ray will truly be missed by all but remembered fondly for the generous, kind, special and loving man he was. 

Family and Friends are invited to honor Ray’s life at the wake on Tuesday, July 15th, from 2–4pm and 7–9pm at Thomas A. Glynn & Son Funeral Home in Rockville Centre. Funeral service will be held at Thomas A. Glynn & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday July 15h, at 3:30 PM.  The family will be meeting at the funeral home at 9:00 AM Tuesday and interment at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton will be at 10:30 AM.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ray's memory to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the V foundation for Cancer Research. Both of which were near and dear to Ray's heart.
