Vivian Beechinor passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning on August 3 2025, after battling Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis for several years. Her husband, Bob, and her daughter, Amanda, were by her side in her Rockville Centre NY home of 30 years.
Vivian was an incredible, inspirational, creative, and selfless woman who dedicated her life to making a positive impact on all.
She was born July 5, 1956 in Havana, Cuba. In 1966, she left Cuba for Spain and then immigrated to the United States of America. She lived in Union City, NJ where she attended St. Michael's Regional High School (class of 1972). She worked in her family's Chinese-Cuban restaurant in NJ.
On December 7, 1976, she became a citizen of the United States of America.
Vivian attended Fordham University on scholarship (class of 1980), where she received a B.A in Political Science and History.
In 2000, she completed her degree in Interior Decorating from Molloy College.
Vivian began her career by managing multiple clothing stores in NJ and Manhattan including the World Trade Center. Later in life she pursued her true passion by having her own interior design business and exploring her creative side by making various craft items just to make people happy.
She is most well known for her Famous Glam Chick she co-created. Her crochet creations have brought happiness to over hundreds of people across the country and the world. Her friends have indicated that she was the embodiment of the type of friend you wanted and needed in your life.
She found joy in books, crafts, cats, and spending time with her loved ones.
Vivian is survived by her husband Bob of 33 years and her daughter, Amanda. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews plus an additional 4 grand nieces and nephews. Her Father Joaquin Chaw and Mother Delia Lee had predeceased her.
Vivian's loss is deeply felt by her family and friends from all over the world.
