Deacon Jack McKenna Obituary

Deacon Jack McKenna passed peacefully on December 20, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and servant of the Church, Deacon Jack lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.


He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Maria McKenna, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and partnership.


Deacon Jack was a proud and loving father to his children: John (Kristin), Catherine Quinn(Sean), and Suzanne Fischetti(Mike). His family was the center of his life, and he took great joy in their accomplishments and happiness.


He was a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren: Anna, Johnny, Madeline, Eleanor, Seanie, Caroline, Claire, and Michael, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.


Deacon Jack was the beloved brother to Patrick, Eugene, Kevin and Margaret.


Deacon Jack faithfully served for 23 years as a deacon at The Church of St. Joseph Garden City, NY, where his quiet humility, compassion, and unwavering faith touched the lives of countless parishioners. His ministry was marked by kindness, gentle wisdom, and a deep commitment to the Church and community he loved.


Above all else, Deacon Jack will be remembered for his strong faith, his devotion to his family, and the steady presence he was to all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
