John Monaco Obituary

John Monaco 

(1940-2026)

John Monaco of Rockville Centre, previously Baldwin, passed away on January 18th after a struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. John was the son of Vincent and Mary Monaco. He was a dedicated husband of MaryJo Monaco (d.2023), loving brother of Vincent Monaco and Rosemary Giblin; dedicated father to Thomas (Naoki); Christopher (Kathleen) and Meredith (Nick); and a cherished grandfather to Luke, Caroline, Hayden, Kate Marie and Avery. 

John grew up in Hempstead and attended Chaminade H.S. and St. John's University. He dedicated 41 years to teaching in the Farmingdale Public School System at Northside Elementary. He was passionate about education, especially science and math and inspired generations of young students to enjoy and have fun learning and achieving.

John will be remembered for his love of family, lifelong friendships, model railroading and his passions for gardening and working on their home.
