Edward
Kunkel Jr.
Oct 31, 1940 — Apr 24, 2026
Edward T. Kunkel Jr. ("Eddie"), 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Beloved husband of 50 years to Janice Kunkel, Eddie was the devoted father of Lisa M. Colao, Erin M. Staley, and Christopher Lane; cherished father‑in‑law to Anthony Colao, Phillip Staley, and Jennifer Lane. He was the proud grandfather of Antonio and Nicholas Colao, Nathaniel Murray and Addison Funk, Julia, and Christopher and Caitlyn Lane.
Eddie was the loving brother of Johanna VanWell, and brother in law to her late husband Hank, Margaret Kraemer and her late husband Ronald and a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews in the VanWell and Kraemer families.
Eddie was a printer by trade and spent many dedicated years at the Meadowlands Print Shop, retiring in October 2002. Shortly after retiring, he embraced one of the greatest joys of his life — becoming a grandfather. Caring for his grandchildren brought him immense happiness, and he often said those years were the most meaningful and fulfilling of his life.
Eddie and Janice shared a love of camping in Lancaster, PA where they created countless memories together. Above all, Eddie was a devoted family man. Nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His presence was steady, loving, and deeply felt by all who knew him.
Eddie's legacy lives on in the family he adored, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
