Scarinzi, Peter Joseph 3/10/1971-5/11/2026 Age 55 passed away peacefully, unexpectedly on 5/11/2026, Albany, NY. He was predeceased by both of his parents Angelo and Justine (Malec) Scarinzi (Rockville Centre NY). He is survived by his younger sister Justine Marie Scarinzi (RVC), his paternal Aunts Norma Meyer (Robert) and Giovanna (Jenny) and Cosimo Boscaino (RVC). Cousins Vito Boscaino (Sheila Dawson) of South Carolina, Linda Abi Joudi (Habib) of Virginia, Phyllis Kelly (Billy) of New York, Maria Meyer of New York and Pre-deceased Charles Meyer (April). Survived by many extended family members. Peter was born and raised in RVC, where he resided until 2020 when he moved to FASNY- The New York State Fireman's Home, in Hudson, New York. He was a 1989 graduate of SSHS in RVC, NY. Peter was a huge RUSH fan, enjoyed playing drums in his youth, he briefly attended Johnson & Wales University, in RI. Throughout his life enjoyed the Culinary Arts, later while residing at FASNY he participated in the annual Chili Contests, twice winning first place including March of 2026 and going on to the State Finals in Albany, NY later the same month. Peter in the words of a friend "Loved the fire service and helping others". He joined the RVCFD October 1991 where he earned the nickname "Professor". As a member of Live Oak Engine Company 1 and later as a member of Eureka Hook, Ladder and later as a Bucket Company 1. Many Christmas Eve's he would dress up as Santa Claus, riding on his company truck for "Santa Runs" in the village to members family and friend's homes around the town. He proudly served as an officer in RVCFD Live Oak Engine Company 1 as 2nd Lieutenant 2002,1st Lieutenant 2004 and Captain in 2006.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Nassau County Burn Center in Peter's name.
