Obituary of Jaime Enrique Medina Altamirano

El nació en la ciudad de Guaranda, Provincia de Bolívar en Ecuador un dia 4 de Junio de 1935. Hijo del Sr. Víctor Manuel Medina Garces y Dioselina Altamirano Paredes junto con sus hermanos Luis Humberto, Rosa Isabel, María Teresita, Lilia Beatriz Medina Altamirano, Arturo Medina, Antonieta Medina, Elva Medina y José Viscaino. Jaimito vivió con sus padres se apresura a la edad de 6 años cuando su Madre fue llamada a la presencia. Despues de eso Jaimito comenzó la odisea de su Vida a vivir con familiares de su Padre en Guaranda-Provincia de Bolívar en el cual tubo muchos aprendizajes muy Fuertes como trabajar largas horas realizando mucho esfuerzo físico a pesar que era un niño y adolescente, hasta que Jaimito a sus 18 años El decidió imigrar a la Ciudad de Quito. El vivió con su prima Eliza Calero y le colaboro en sus estudios de Medicina. Después su domicilio fue en la Floresta en donde decidio formar  su propia Familia y contrajo Matrimonio en Diciembre 13, 1965 con la Sra. Alicia Galarza Paredes y procrear tres hijos: María Fernanda, Alexandra de los Angeles y John Xavier Medina Galarza

Jaime Enrique fue Carpintero de Profesión sosteniendo su propia aserradero con subidas y abajadas para sostener económicamente a su Familia, el también fue uno de los pioneros en la construcción del Oleoducto Ecuatoriano trabajando para la compañía “William & Brothers” primero trabajo como peon y después trabajo como Supervisor de Material en Lago Agrio y Baeza- Ecuador asi transcurrio unos años. También Jaimito con su don en la Carpinteria trabajo para los Ex presidentes Ecuatorianos Galo Plaza Lasso, Sixto Duran Ballen y fue muy apreciado por sus familias por la calidad de persona que El era y sus creaciones con la Madera. El tiempo transcurrió y Jaimito y Alicia tomaron la decision del divorcio y decidió continuar su camino solo.  Pero nosotros Como hijos continuamos estando presentes en su Vida en todo momento.

En Ello Jaimito consiguio una compañera de Vida  Carmen del Pilar Mina Diaz y sus hijos le abrieron la puerta para compartir la vida con ellos por 30 años en el barrio La Vicentina de Quito. Consuelo, Maria fueron sus hijas de ese momento ya que ellas le dieron Amor y le cuidaron a el. Me cuentan que el era el encargado de lavar los platos y siempre decia “Dejen Los Platos yo Lavo” “ Por favor entiendan que no me gusta la ensalada” Asi transcurrieron largos años con su compañera y su familia entre altos y bajos momentos. En el cual Jaimiti termino su Carrera como Carpintero y le dieron la oportunidad de compartir el conocimiento de la Carpinteria a nuevos jovenes enseñando la Materia de Carpinteria en el Instituto Tecnologico Vida Nueva en Guamani, Quito. Jaimito fue muy querido, respetado y buscado por la carpinteria y los muebles hermosos que hacia en su amada Floresta, Vicentina y Guamani.

Jaimito se retiro a sus 70 años de laborar en la Carpinteria y la Educacion. Jaimito dedico su tiempo libre a socializar en La Plaza Grande de Quito donde se convirtio  como Guia Turistico para las personas que visitavan los templos o sus alrededores en Quito colonial alli fue muy querido, admirado,  y amado por sus amigos y turistas. Fue algo que el lo hizo con mucho amor y alegria.

A la edad de 83 años , sus hijos decidieron dares una oportunidad de volver a compartir con su padre y asi poderle dar una mejor vida en sus ultimos años de su Padre ya que El estaba mayor y desprotejido en su amado Ecuador, Jaimito  anhelaba conocer USA  y para que El pueda conocer y disfrutar del hermoso pais donde sus hijos residen, asi fue que le pedimos la resisidencia siendo otorgada en Mayo 2019 por el govierno de los Estados Unidos.  New York le abrio las puertas como residente legal y llego a New York Mayo 26, 2019 a compartir con sus Hijos, Yerno Benito Molina y sus nietos Angelica Mishell Medina, Erika Carolyn Molina, Alicia Penelope Medina, Benito Molina Jr. y Diana Elizabeth Molina y su bisnieta Renata Valetina Madera, demas familiares y amigos de la familia. Han sido unos 2 años de compartir, de disfrutar, de celebrar sus momentos especiales, de sanacion, de liberacion y de mucho amor, disfrutando los chistesitos como el decia a todas las personas que conocia , ya que con su demensia Cenil Jaimito se quedo con la memoria de la “vecindad del Chavo del Ocho” programa que el lo miro por muchos años en su juventud, entonces el veia en todos nosotros un personaje de la “Vecindad del Chavo” al igual el amor que tuvo a la tierra Mexicana, su musica y sus peliculas.

Jaimito siempre fue un hombre de muy saludable, con una Fe inmensa y agradecido por todo lo que tenia y por todos los que estabamos a su alrededor. Jaimito era una persona que le encantaba los dulces, las fiestas y la parranda.

A su edad de 85 años Jaimito contrajo una deficiencia Cardiaca y en 6 meses esta deficiencia lo acabo, fue un luchador, el trataba de no hacer caso a la enfermedad, pero el contrajo Covid y afecto grandemente sus pulmones  y  su deficiencia cardiaca empero grandemente y lo hizo trascender el dia Febrero 4, 2021 a las 1:35 AM.

A Jaimito le sobreviven su Hermana Lilia Beatriz Medina de Duran, Sobrinos: Fernando Barragan Medina, Roberto Duran Medina, Vinicio, Carlos, Raul y Ruben Medina Bustillos. Sus sobrinas; Jenny, Patricia, Ligia, Vilma y Maria Flores Medina, Dora Medina Bustillo, Vero Duran Medina

Solo nos  queda a nosotros los Hijos, Yerno, Nietos y bisnieta, dar gracias a Dios Padre Celestial a Nuestra Madre Virgen Maria por habernos dado la oportunidad de celebrar la vida con Jaime Enrique Medina Altamirano, también queremos dar las  gracias a todos los familiares y amigos que estan aqui en este momento, a todas las personas por su generosidad, a todos los mensajes que hemos recibido, a toda las llamadas que nos han hecho,  a todos los que nos han ayudado con sus oraciones. He was born in Guaranda, Bolivar Province in Ecuador on June 4, 1935. He was the son of Mr. Víctor Manuel Medina Garces and Dioselina Altamirano Paredes together with his brothers Luis Humberto, Rosa Isabel, María Teresita, Lilia Beatriz Medina Altamirano, Arturo Medina, Antonieta Medina, Elva Medina and José Viscaino. Jaimito lived with his parents, rushing at the age of 6 when his mother was called to the presence. After that Jaimito began the odyssey of his life to live with relatives of his Father in Guaranda-Province of Bolivar learning a new life as an horphant with all kind of ups and downs that was strong for a child and adolescent, when he reach the age of 18 years he decided to move to the City of Quito and his domicile was in the Floresta. He lived with his cousin Eliza Calero and collaborated in his medical studies. After that he made his own family and married on December 13, 1965 with Ms. Alicia Galarza Paredes and procreated three children: María Fernanda, Alexandra de los Angeles and John Xavier Medina Galarza

Jaime Enrique was a Carpenter holding his own sawmill with ups and downs to sustain his family economically, he was also one of the pioneers in the construction of the Ecuadorian Pipeline working for the company "William & Brothers" first work as a pawn and then worked as Material Supervisor in Lago Agrio and Baeza- Ecuador, so he did for a few years. Also Jaimito with his gift in the Carpentry work for the former Ecuadorian presidents Galo Plaza Lasso, Sixto Duran Ballen and was highly appreciated by their families for the quality of person he was and his creations with wood. Time elapsed and Jaimito and Alicia made the divorce decision and decided to continue on their own path.  But we as children continue to be present in your life at all times.

During this time Jaimito got a life partner Carmen del Pilar Mina Diaz and her children opened the door to share life with them for 30 years in the neighborhood of la Vicentina, He lived with his step daughters Consuelo, Maria were his daughters at the time as they gave him Love and cared for him. They told me that he was in charge of washing the dishes and always said "Leave The Dishes I Wash" "Please understand that I do not like salad" So they spent long years with his partner and his family between high and low moments.

Jaimito finished his career as a carpenter and was given the opportunity to share the knowledge of carpinteria to new young people teaching at The Institute Technology of the New Life in Guamani, Quito. Jaimito was much loved, respected and admire by his students and parents, He had the arts in his hands as a carpenter making beautiful furniture he made in his beloved Floresta, Vicentina and Guamani.

Jaimito retires at 70 years of work in Carpentry and Education. Jaimito dedicated his free time to socializing in La Plaza Grande de Quito where he became a Tourist Guide for people visiting the temples or their surroundings in colonial Quito there he was respected, loved, and admired, his friends and tourists. It was something he did with a lot of love and joy.

 At the age of 83, his children decided to give him a chance to re-connect as a family, so he could get him a better life in his later years of his live. He was older and unprotected in his beloved Ecuador, Jaimito always had the wish to know the United States, and see where his children reside. We decided to ask him for legal residence being granted in May 2019 by the goverment of the United States.  New York opened the doors for him as a legal resident and arrived in New York May 26, 2019 to share with his children, Son-in-Law Benito Molina and his grandchildren Angelica Mishell Medina, Erika Carolyn Molina, Alicia Penelope Medina, Benito Molina Jr. and Diana Elizabeth Molina and her great-granddaughter Renata Valetina Madera, other family and  friends. It has been about 2 years of sharing, enjoying, celebrating its special moments, healing, traveling and love. Since Jaimito was diagnosed with dementia Jaimito stayed with the memory of the "Spanish program of El Chavo del Ocho" a Mexican program that he looked at for many years in his youth, then he will call us some of the characters names of  that program and asked  “When you arrive from Mexico” then he said is just a joke, He had a passion for  Mexican music, and movies.

Jaimito was always a healthy man, with an immense faith and always grateful for all that he had and for all of us around him. Jaimito was a person who loved sweets, parties and socialization. At his age of 85 Jaimito contracted a cardiac deficiency and in 6 months this deficiency ended, he was a fighter, he tried not to listen to the disease, but he contracted Covid and greatly affected his lungs and his heart failure however greatly and caused the passing to a better life on February 4, 2021 at 1:35 AM.

Jaimito is survived by his sister Lilia Beatriz Medina de Duran,   nephews: Fernando Barragan Medina,  Vinicio Medina, Raul Medina, Carlos Medina, Roberto Duran and nieces: Jenny, Patricia, Ligia, Vilma and Maria Flores Medina, Dora Medina, y Veronica Duran Medina

Only we the daughters, Son, Sons-in-Law, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, thank God Heavenly Father to Our Virgin Mother Mary for giving us the opportunity to celebrate life with Jaime Enrique Medina Altamirano, we also want to thank all the family and friends who are here right now, all the people for their generosity, all the messages we have received, to all the calls they have made to us, to all who have helped us with their prayers. We have been able to feel your love for our family; we are very honored and grateful to have each of you.
