Ernestine (Tina) Olsen, October 15, 1935 to March 26, 2021

Tina, born in 1935 to Augusta and Samuel Clay.  She and her older sister Alice (died 2016) were born and raised in Woodside NY and East Meadow.  Tina died on March 26, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving daughters.  Married for almost 50 years to John Christian (Chris) Olsen (died 2015) they raised their family in Bellmore NY and spent the past 17 years in Manchester NJ.  Mother to four, Christina (Danny), Laurie (Randy), Joanne (Joe) and the late (2001) John (Stephanie); Grandmother to eight and Great-grandmother to 8 (and one on the way!) She was an enormous role model for her entire family.  A registered nurse, Tina’s career centered around elder care where she worked as a Director of Nursing for several skilled nursing facilities. She has been a mentor to many in her field and has made many deep and lasting friendships throughout her life.  Tina loved to travel, adored British television, was an avid reader and quote-acrostic solver. She was always the most intelligent person in the room. As matriarch of the family, her influence, common sense lessons and love will stay with all of them for generations to come.   Her children and their families adored her and will miss her terribly.
