Obituary of Elaine Salvitti

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. The family of Elaine Theresa Salvitti of Holbrook is saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the age of 82. Elaine was born on July 13, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Willard Cuttler and Theresa (Dean). After graduating from Sayville High School, she met Raymond Salvitti and they wed in 1958, going on to have three sons, Raymond Jr., John, and Nicholas.

After starting her family, Elaine continued her education by earning her Associates Degree from Suffolk County Community College. Elaine went on to have a storied forty plus year career waitressing and managing at The Good Steer in Lake Grove, NY. Elaine and Raymond enjoyed their retirement by vacationing and cruising around the world.

Elaine was a passionate multi-talented artist always excited to learn and master something new. She enjoyed her time working with East End Painters, travelling around to craft fairs, and any other adventure her and Karen Gaddy could come up with.

“G-ma” also took joy in spending time with her seven grandchildren. Whether it was watching Disney movies, teaching art, or just hanging out together, “G-ma” always made time for her grandkids.

Elaine is survived by son John and wife Claudia, son Nicholas and wife Jennifer, and seven grandchildren, Matthew, LisaMarie, Nikolette, Jessica, Tyler, Ariana, and Raymond Emmanuel. She was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Theresa, her son Raymond Jr. (Cindy), and her husband Raymond of 62 years.
