
Obituary of Margaret Powers
Margaret Powers, originally from Staten Island and later West Islip, passed on Tuesday, September 28th, at the age of 87.
She is survived by her 7 children (Laura, Billy, Stacie, Nancy, Lisa, Jamie and Frank) as well as her 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Margaret is one of 8 siblings to Ann and Alexander Kucin, survived by Nancy, Joe, Tom, and Therese, predeceased by Allan, Jane and Alice.
Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother, passionate about art and sharing her gifts with others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, ballroom dancing, travel, Tai Chi, and spending time with her family.
Margaret committed time to working at the local museum in Islip and teaching art classes.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be at Thomas A. Glynn & Son Funeral Home in Rockville Centre, NY.
Dates and times are as follows: Friday, October 1st, 2:00-4:00/7:00-9:00
There will be a short service at the funeral home on Saturday, October 2nd at 9:00am, with interment immediately following at Pinelawn Cemetary on Wellwood Avenue in Farmingdale.
