Obituary of Anne Marie Bossart

Please share a memory of Anne Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anne Marie Bossart, 39, of South Orange, New Jersey, died on December 16th, 2024 after a brief and brave battle with cancer.  Born June 23rd, 1985, in New York, NY, Anne Marie was the third of Robert T. and former Rockville Centre Mayor Mary W. Bossart’s four children.

Annie was an angelically beautiful baby – even her grandmother, who has 18 other grandchildren, said she was the fairest of them all.  She grew up in Rockville Centre and attended St. Agnes Cathedral Elementary School, spent her summers on Cape Cod, and sang her heart out in the Cathedral Girls Choir, where she became a Team Leader.  Anne Marie then attended Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, where she participated in countless theatre productions, sang in the Chorus, and met three of her best friends, Katie, Holly & Vanessa.  Highly intelligent, Annie was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and winner of numerous academic awards.

Annie attended Duke University, where she continued to share her musical gifts by singing in the Duke Chorale.  A curious mind, her studies ranged from Physics, to Classics, to English to Public Policy to Asian Studies.  She joined the Chi Omega sorority, met her good friends Julie & Lisa, learned Mandarin and studied abroad in Beijing, and interned for the US House of Representatives Committee on Ways & Means Press Office.  Anne Marie earned a BA in 2008, with a major in Public Policy and minor in English and Chinese.

The first step in Anne Marie’s legal career was as a paralegal at Chemtob Moss & Forman, LLP, and later in Chanel’s Legal Department.  She attended the Cornell University School of Law, where she was proudly the Cornell Moot Court Board’s Executive Bench Editor and a Langfan Family Moot Court Competition Finalist.  She earned a prestigious summer internship at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP, and joined the firm as an associate, where she particularly enjoyed intellectual property law.  She later held roles at Weg & Myers, LLP & Lerner, Arnold & Winston, LLP.  Ever faithful to her love of music, Annie joined the New York City Bar Association Chorus.

Annie is remembered by her family and friends as extraordinarily smart, witty, observant, musically talented, and incredibly thoughtful.  She always gave the best gifts, and even sent Christmas presents from her hospital bed.  She will be tremendously missed by those who loved her.

Anne Marie is survived by her parents Robert & Mary Bossart, her brother Rob, her sister Kate, brother-in-law Jayant and nephew Logan, her brother Chris and sister-in-law Conilyne, her maternal grandmother Veronica Whalen, and an Irish-American clan of aunts, uncles and cousins.  She is predeceased by her maternal grandfather Daniel A. Whalen and paternal grandparents Elizabeth & Walter Bossart.

Visitation for Anne Marie will be held at Glynn Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024 from 7-9pm and Thursday, December 19th, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.  Her funeral mass will be at 11am on December 20th, 2024 at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre, with the interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
