Dear Jane,
May you rest in peace. I remember about 20 years ago, I was sitting in the back of the church at mass with my 3 active toddlers. While other parishioners grimaced at their zest for life during mass, you had only kind words for them, and me. I was a young mother then, and I never forgot what you said, "Jesus welcomed the children, no need to leave." Your smile was a gift from heaven. That meant so much. And by heeding your advice, my grown children are very active in the mass, lectoring and giving communion, at St. Agnes, as well as the colleges they attended. They have not left, and neither have my husband and I. I hope you knew how much your weekly encouragement at mass meant. I missed seeing you at Mass and wondered where you were and how you were. When I heard your name on the sick list, please know I prayed for you. Now, dear friend, rest in peace in God's hands. Well deserved.
