Ask anyone who worked with Vinny DeMarino and all were saddened to hear he had passed but relieved his battle is over. Undoubtedly in the next difficult days Vinny's beloved family will meet so many who will share memories; admiration for his highly accomplished career in law enforcement and transit management including, ironically, one of his major initiatives as a key element of the Governor's Fare Enforcement Task Force: the New York City Transit Eagle Team; his friendship; and his constant support of his follow Cops.
Most important Vinny's never-ending pride and love for his family.

I worked with Vinny as a cop in District 4 and it was a laugh a minute. Not only a gentleman but a fun loving guy who had a great sense of humor. As he rose through the ranks he always remained the same. Never an air of superiority, always looking out for us all. My privilege to have met, worked and known such a decent human being. I was saddened to learn of Vinny's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers. During my 30 years of service I have never met a better man, Police Officer and Chief than Vinny. I was always so proud of his accomplishments, which were many. Vinny was a great leader , teacher and friend. He will be missed by many. He was a good man who left a positive mark on everything he touched.Those of us Transit Cops will never forget him.
