Please share a memory of Martin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Martin Anthonio Tai, 70, of Queens, New York, exited this world on May 30th, 2023. He was born in St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica, W.I. on January 7th, 1953, to Monica and Aubrey Tai.

Martin, the most devoted father and grandfather is survived by his children, Christi, Max, Lilli, Holli, and grandchildren, Joey, Lia, Matty, Indigo, Harley, and Dash.

After growing up in a humble yet vibrant town in Jamaica, where he played cricket, soccer and developed his love for fishing, the family migrated to the United States seeking the American dream. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Physics at the City College of the City University of New York, then pursued his graduate and doctoral studies at the University of Miami and Adelphi University. He worked as a physicist for Lockheed Martin for many years, then obtained the position of Senior Technical Advisor with the U.S. Department of the Navy Strategic Systems Program.

As a man of principle, Martin would never back down or quit in the face of adversity. A man of immense complexity, his genius level intellect was matched by his practical ingenuity and hilarious sense of humor and vivid storytelling. He continued his love for family, fishing and physics throughout his days.

Martin was truly a larger than life man whose impact will forever be felt by his family. He was a passionate, generous man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to provide, protect, entertain, and love will be forever ingrained in all he knew.
